Privacy Policy
Last updated 2026-07-15
OpenRadio is built to work with no accounts, no ads, and no tracking. This page explains exactly what little data touches the app, and where it goes.
Data stored in your browser
OpenRadio saves your favorite stations, volume level, and a few UI preferences in your browser's localStorage. This data:
- Never leaves your device or gets sent to any OpenRadio server
- Is not accessible to us, to Radio Garden, or to any third party
- Persists only on the device and browser you used, until you clear your browser storage or uninstall the app
OpenRadio does not use cookies, analytics scripts, or advertising trackers.
Requests that pass through our servers
OpenRadio is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. To let the app work over HTTPS, a restricted same-origin Cloudflare Pages Function proxies a small, fixed set of Radio Garden JSON endpoints and audio streams that would otherwise trigger mixed-content or CORS blocks in your browser. These requests necessarily pass through Cloudflare's network, which may log standard technical data (such as IP address and request timing) as part of normal infrastructure operation, governed by Cloudflare's privacy policy. OpenRadio itself does not read, store, or analyze this traffic.
Third-party stream servers
When you play a station, your device (or the proxy acting on your behalf) connects directly to that station's own streaming server, which is operated independently by the broadcaster. That connection is subject to the broadcaster's own privacy practices, not OpenRadio's.
No accounts
OpenRadio has no sign-up, login, email collection, or user accounts of any kind. There is nothing to register and nothing tied to your identity.
Children's privacy
OpenRadio does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children, because it does not collect personal information at all.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date above will change too. Since OpenRadio ships continuously, check the changelog for a dated history of app changes.
